アジア情報社会コース（ITASIA）は、情報通信技術の発達に大きな影響を受けている現代アジアの社会や文化、メディアやコミュニケーション、国際関係に対する分析力と洞察力の養成を目指した教育を行っています。留学生、日本人を問わず、アジアや世界の舞台で専門的職業人として活躍することを志す学生を対象としています。すべての教育は英語で行われ、日本語能力は前提とされません。学年は9月から始まります。

義務ではないが、メールやzoom面談等で相性を考えることがおすすめ。

情報学環の他のコースは受けられる？

併願はできない。
社会情報学コース(社会学系)、文化・人間情報学コース(カルチュラル・スタディーズ系)、先端表現情報学コース(AI系)、総合分析情報学コース(理系の情報学系)、生物統計情報学コース(医療系)でも英語での書類提出＆面接が可能だが、日本語能力も問われる。
※社会情報学コースでは、2026年夏季に実施予定の令和9（2027）年度修士課程入学試験（夏季募集）より、一次選考において筆記試験（専門科目）を再開するため要対策。

Course Overview (Referencing the Official Website)

The IT Asia Course (ITASIA) aims to cultivate analytical skills and insight into contemporary Asian society and culture, media and communication, and international relations, all of which are significantly influenced by the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). It is designed for both international and Japanese students who aspire to become professionals active on the Asian or global stage. All education is conducted in English, and Japanese language proficiency is not required. The academic year starts in September.

Application Procedure (No Written Exam)

  1. Form Submission: Enter basic application information (agreement form, photo, current position, and a summary of your research plan).
  2. Login to My Page: Access your dedicated applicant portal.
  3. Prepare Required Documents: Gather the necessary documents as listed on My Page.
  4. Obtain Two Letters of Recommendation: Secure recommendation letters from two individuals.
  5. Submit Documents: Upload steps 3 and 4 via My Page.

Q & A

Is there a written examination?

Answer: No, there isn’t.

Should I contact a potential supervisor beforehand?

Answer: It is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended to assess compatibility through email or a Zoom meeting, etc.

Can I apply to other courses within the GSII?

Answer: Dual applications are not permitted. Other courses—Social Information Studies Course (Sociology/Social Science), Cultural and Human Information Studies Course (Cultural Studies), Advanced Art and Science Course (AI/Advanced Expression), Global Information Studies Course (Science/Information Science), and Biostatistics Course (Medical Field)—also allow submission of documents and interviews in English, but Japanese language proficiency will also be assessed.

Note: For the Social Information Studies Course, a written examination (specialized subject) for the primary screening will be reinstated starting from the Master’s Program entrance examination (Summer Admission) scheduled for the summer of 2026 for the 2027 Academic Year. Preparation for this is necessary.
